Mount Righteous to perform live…
Posted on March 31st, 2010
Earlier this year, my girlfriend took me out one night to see a small local band at a small local bar. That band was not that great. But salvaging what would have been just another night shuddering as I watched the woman I love drink hipster beer from a can. We were introduced to another act; a highly entertaining ensemble calling themselves MOUNT RIGHTEOUS. A 9-piece of what-seemed-to-be marching band, up on the tiniest of stages. An avant-garde group that I instinctively compared to something like Architecture in Helsinki. At least in personality, if maybe not in sound.

| Anti-orchestral folk-punk band, Mount Righteous |
They are from Texas. Fort Worth, Texas, and feature mostly acoustic instrumentation. They seem to be mildly tainted by the ‘band-geek’ moniker but brush it off with class. I would recommend listening to their song CIRCLE YES OR NO, is my favorite (you can find it on their myspace page). Or here is a free download of EAT YOUR WIFE AND KISS THE BARBECUE. Give it a go. Do it.

The Mount Righteous message seems keen; steamy, action packed art, music, entertainment, danger and evolution of all the above.
Worth checking out if they show up near you.
